Universal and International Exhibition (Exposition Universelle et Internationale) in Ghent, Belgium, in 1913 ... out of 4,067 entries !!  When Broqniez began brewing it at Gulf Brewing Company, they named it Grand Prize in honor of the achievement.  Grand Prize became the best selling beer in Texas !!
