    Lot of 16 Vintage CALIFORNIA Advertising SPOON OPENER SCREW DRIVER Mark Hopkins, Sir Francis Drake
    1930's to 1950's
    Color: silver/gray
    Lengths vary between 7" and 7 3/4"
    Made in St. Paul, Minn., U.S.A.
    These are used antique items for collecting purposes only and are no longer intended for use.
    All have spoon and bottle opener (cap lifter); some also have the screwdriver tip in addition to spoon and bottle opener.  Some were made with straight handles, others curved.
    You will receive all 16 of the spoons shown in this lot
    .  The BILTMORE HOTEL Los Angeles #4-6 is duplicated; Hotel Mark Hopkins is duplicated #13-16 (although #15 is slightly different).  All other spoons are unique.
    Each has had a basic cleaning with a soft cloth.
    The spoon openers date to the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's, as apparent from the early versions of the phone number shown on many of the openers (see below).
    All openers (except #4-6 Biltmore Hotel, which has no mark) are marked on upper handle "B. & B. St. Paul Minn. U. S. A." with some variations.  The oldest spoon openers in this lot might be #1- 3, which show "DES. PAT. PDG." below the B & B marking and which are all spoons with opener ends.
    Some have "Remembrance" printed above the B&B mark.
    (B & B is Brown & Bigelow, a historic St. Paul company, who manufactured the items.)
